Sampled at No Anchovies. A very nice brown ale with malty strengths that come out of a solid nutty flavor. Goes down very smooth. A well crafted brew.

Pours midnight brown w/ a tall lasting froth that takes forever to come down. A thick downy canopy is the resulting lace. Nice! Aromas of tart roasted malts. Hmm? Medium nectar weight w/ ample residual effers that explode on the palate. A strong roast complex is obtrusive and then this soured skank slaps me in the face. Roasted nut shells and coffee bean, sour dark fruits, and a moderate hop profile push forward. The finish is strong and offensive. Overall: The commercial description is way off. I read other reviews and discover the sour flavors are common. My bottle had the month of June notched out of it.

Pours to a dark brown cola body with a tall foamy light beige head. Nice lacing. The aroma is nutty and dry with peanuts and dry roasted walnuts. Shea butter. The flavor is nutty with peanuts and dry brown ale malts. The palate is very dry with a light metallic tartness.

brown pour huge frothy off white head thick lacing and vizable carbonation. Surprisingly a light hop aroma existed w/ lots of dark grains and light carmels. Avg palate. Flavor is heavily grainy, light carmels, a touch of lightly bitter coccoa. Decent little brown.

Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany, with a huge, overcarbonated, airy, clingy light tan head. Aroma of earthy sweet dark caramel and chocolate malts with a hint of tartness. Body starts lightly caramely sweet with a nutty flavor along with some mild acidity toward a milk chocolatey finish. My guess is that this is in the first stages of an infection, but would otherwise be a pretty good brown ale.

Bottle from BevMo, La Mesa. Pours a very dark brown color with some ruby outlines. Slightly sweet chocolate aroma. Almost artificial smelling. Some coffee. Sweet chocolate flavors. Somewhat sugary. A little soapy tasting. Decent.
