| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 11, 2007 Bottle. Brown colour with a beige head. The aroma is a bit roasted, dusty, with chocolate and a faint sourness, the taste is is the same with some acid sourness, I don´t think it´s sopose to be there, but I can see Ungstrup rated it and it was the same bottle. Medium body with a light dry finish. Ungstrup (15376), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 9, 2007 Bottled. A dark brown beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, that makes it a bit acidic, combined with notes of milk chocolate. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 23, 2006 A fine brown, creamy and licorice aroma and taste, I think Solomon420 sent this hitchiker, but I stand to be corrected. A bit of creaminess on chocolate brown colour. A tad aggressive carbonation, altogether serviceable but just another brown. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Dec 9, 2006 12 oz Bottle via Mystery Swap (thanks FlacoAlto!). Pours a dark brown/almost black with a large tan head. Nose is very nutty with some toasted grain note and toffee notes. Taste is the same but is sour. The sourness overwhelms everything except a bit of soy suace flavor....THis is my fourth different beer from this brewery and the 2nd sour one. Think i got a bad beer here, hopefully will get to try a fresh one one day. BeerHawk (1175), Huntsville, Alabama, USA

Aromas of chocolate and caramel. The flavor found wood, nuts, chocolate, coffee and a touch of grass as it warmed. Light body and a coffee aftertaste. Very Nice!! zathrus13 (1310), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 7, 2006 FlacoAlto generously donated four Nimbus brews to me, and the Brown Ale was the first I tasted. Into my goblet it sluiced, producing a rather elegant, nearly black visage highlighted by chestnut brown sparkles and a thick chapeau of foamed milk. The nose is rather tight, but with time I was able extract a rich chocolate aroma to which hints of licorice, mint, soy sauce and caramel were appended. The flavor seemed rather dilute and paradoxal to the opulent semblance of the beer. Roasted malts and a particularly obvious Hershey’s chocolate inflection composed the principal body, while a finishing flare of dry coffee sealed the expanse of this beer. A somewhat misleading effort that would vastly benefit of a thicker texture and the slightest increase in complexity. aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Sep 21, 2006 Pours a dark brown with a small head. The aroma is a bit of nuts, some metallic notes and something that I can’t quite put my finger on, but it sure isn’t pleasant. I’m not really digging this beer at all.
