Commercial Description:
A traditional stout using dark roasted malted barley to create a full-bodied ale. Rounded with the smooth flavor of oats, the addition of English Kent Goldings hops produces a creamy stout that has proven to be a favorite.

Bottles thanks to a couple fine folks! Poured a clear, deep chocolatey brown with short, but coating cap of brown head. Aroma was quite lovely with roasted milk chocolate and cocoa accompanied by some lactose sugars... picked up a bit of vinous quality as it warmed up. The flavor had a darker, rather burnt roast to it with cocoa and more of the milky sugars representin’... left some chalky roast at the finish. Medium-bodied with a decent flow to it.. again a bit chalky.

Bottle. Aroma of roasted coffee and chocolate malt and bread/oats. Maybe a little too much carbonation. Flavor was similar to the aroma with the coffee and bitter chocolate dominating.

Very dark brown (opaque) with a small tan head. The aroma and flavor had hints of wet soil, mushrooms, roasted coffee, and just a little bit of dark cherries. The feel was slightly thin and watery, with a wet finish. Not bad.

Bottle poured a nearly opaque black with a small lasting tight brown head. Aromas of coffee, roasted malt, bitter chocolate and a hint of vanilla. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of bitter chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, black malt and a hint of licorice with a smooth lingering roasty finish.

I’m going to try this one again after my sniffer gets a little better. But what I could pick up was some lactic character in the nose, light smoke and some roasted malts. Flavor was coffee, dark fruits and dark chocolate. Wasn’t really sweet for a sweet stout. Happy to knock off my Arizona beer rating in my quest for all 50 states. I’m going to revisit this beer, since I have 5 more.

Nice aroma of dark malt and chocolate, maybe, just maybe, coffee. Dark brown/black color with no lasting head. Better than medium mouthfeel, mild carbonation, creamy roasted malt, and a finish that has a chocolately coating in the mouth. Seems to be coffee in there somewhere, but ... The finish comes out rather dry, and there is some bitter on the tongue edges. A very nice stout.
