Commercial Description:
A traditional stout using dark roasted malted barley to create a full-bodied ale. Rounded with the smooth flavor of oats, the addition of English Kent Goldings hops produces a creamy stout that has proven to be a favorite.

Nice creamy coffee aroma. Black body with a thin head. Full palate for a sweet stout. Taste follows the aroma exactly. Easy to drink with a slightly tangy flavor in the finish.

Bottle from trade with cbkschubert. Poured black with a tall tan head that leaves light lacing. Mocha aroma with a touch of roast. Malty flavor that is a little too sour for me in a stout. Medium body. Slight sour coffee aftertaste.

Bottle: Pitch black, large foamy beige head, patchy lacing.   Lactose nose, slight sweet and sour fruit skin, underlying roasted malt and coffee bean.   Milky lactose like sweetness, soft bitterness, decent roasted malt backbone.   Feels a little thin in the mouth, but the body is fairly decent.   Clingy roasted malt finish.   There remains some fruity sourness on top of the lactose sweetness.   Not quite what I would think of as a Sweet Stout because it did have those sour notes, but it remains fairly tasty nonetheless.

Bottle thanks to Cbkschubert. Poured a thick black body with thin head. Aroma is of malt but waith a small sour smell hovering in there, never pinpointed it down. Flavor is sweet, creamy, malt and slightly bitter. Very dry for a sweet stout. Somewhat lacks a body to it, not as full as I like a stout to be. Not a bad stout be there was a nuttyness to it that did not balance out the beer.

Bottle (12oz). Via trade with Degarth, in a snifter at about 12 Celsius. Oliy opaque black with a small quick-diminishing beige head. Aroma of sour coffee grounds and burnt nutshells, slightly funky hop character around the edges, and some cherry too. Taste is sweet burnt malt, sour cherry and mild molasses, the dishwater sourness seems like watered-down overroasted coffee grounds - a little ear-warming alcohol in the finish - decent grassy hop bitterness ultimately. Thin, gruely mouthfeel, very flat and slick, mildly acidic and astringent, nutty, caramelized aftertaste. Not bad, but needs more body - and a little less acidity to be a solid sweet. stout.

Milky stout. Sweet aroma of malts and cocoa, with milk! Taste is like Cocoa Puffs with oats and some coffee. Very thin mouthfeel. Smooth, but nothing special.
