Commercial Description:
A traditional stout using dark roasted malted barley to create a full-bodied ale. Rounded with the smooth flavor of oats, the addition of English Kent Goldings hops produces a creamy stout that has proven to be a favorite.

Bottle... Pours pitch black with a tiny, creamy, beige head. No retention. Lots of milk chocolate in the nose with some dark cherries and caramel. The flavor is medium bitter with lots of burnt notes and no residual sweetness, even when warm. Just a hint of acidity. Light to medium-bodied with soft carbonation. Lengthy, burnt, moderately bitter finish. FlacoAlto provided the bottle!

Thanks to Flaco Alto for this. Jet black pour with 2-finger brown head. One of the browner heads you will ever see. Aroma of molasses, chocolate syrup, coffee, hoppy peppery hints. The taste is roasty malty, with chocolate and coffee, some anise and nut hints, and some peppery finishing hints. Medium palate with a creamy finish.

Thanks to FlacoAlto for the several Nimbus brews!

One of the most inky black beers I have ever poured! The head is resilient, rocky, and a rugged burlap color. The aroma is ROASTY, with bold suggestions of cold black coffee and baker’s chocolate. The flavor is just that, bitter oily black coffee, ash of oak, hint of vanilla and a light lactic tartness on the end. A nice beer… raw, real, and a nice mouth-feel!

Small, light tan head, retention is good, lacing is stringy and thickly coating. Black bodied brew. Nose is faint roast, chocolate and a bit grainy. Med/light body with lightly oily mouthfeel. Roast and chocolate flavors are subdued, black malt? Dry maltiness and some dark fruits. Finish is dry and lightly roasty. Sense a problem with this beer as a bit of sourness is showing itself, somewhat distracting from the overall. Bottle received in a trade with cbkschubert, thanks Craig!

Pours a pitch black with a large tan head. The aroma is chocolatey and roasty with a mellow backup of the earthy hops. Nice big balance of flavors. Not a bad little stout here.

12 oz bottle from cbkschubert. Black with a thin tan head. Coffee, dark chocolate and prune nose. Flavor is a tad weak, but pleasant - dark chocolate, coffee, some dark fruitiness. Dry bitter chocolate finish.

From bottle thanks to Immy. Pours black with thick coffee head that dissipates quickly. Nice lacing. Nose is slightly acrid, with chocolate and coffee. Flavor follows, a touch sour, with bitter in the finish. A little on the thin side.

Bottle from trade with cpkschubert; Nose of coffee, chocolate, and a little smoke and tartness; Opaque walnut with a huge tan head that laces heavily as it recedes; flavor is of tart coffee, with roasty and chocolate notes, and a small hop finish.
