Commercial Description:
A traditional stout using dark roasted malted barley to create a full-bodied ale. Rounded with the smooth flavor of oats, the addition of English Kent Goldings hops produces a creamy stout that has proven to be a favorite.

Dark brown, black, no head or lacing. Nose of astringent and vegetal notes, lots of coffee and clean sweet roast. The flavor is sweet, meh, nice roastiness. This and the blonde are the only ones that go well with this brewer’s terroir. Varnish? Starchy, lots of coffee.

Aroma of rich coffee and dark chocolate, jet black, pours a small cappuccino head. Roast coffee taste, with a hint of chocolate. Bitter, light bodied, smooth. Very good. Thank You mds!

Zgreatest oatmeal stout in the west! The aroma is fantastic. Best if served directly from the brewery as it is not one of Nimbus fastest selling beers simply because of where it is brewed in the desert southwest. Be sure to look at the lable on the bottle to ensure the beer has not exceeded its aging into becoming sour. It is a really grea beer!

Beer pours very dark brown with a somewhat smallish, mostly diminishing tan colored head. Burnt aroma with some sweettart aromas. Flavor is tart to the point of being sour. I am not opposed to sour beers, but don’t look for sour when sampling sweet stouts. Don’t know, perhaps I got a bad bottle.

Bottle. Pours a deep dark black body with a medium tanned-mocha head. Beautiful aroma - milky chocolate, toffee, hops, and just a touch of sourness. Reasonably low carbonation. Sour malt flavours didn’t really bode well but despite this there were other decent traits like the chocolate toffee flavour and bitter coffee. Relatively short finish. Pretty tasty overall but not without its faults.

Poured a very dark brown color witha small tan head. Highly roasted aroma, light tartness and some smoke. The aroma was creamy and sweet. Notes of brown sugar. While the aroma sounds complex and good it was alittle odd to me. The flavor was very roasty and tart. Bitter roasty finish. Very thin body.

12 oz Bottle: Pours a deep brown stout looking color, with a brown head. Almost like a fizzy coke, but with less fizz and pop. Aroma strong on the malts, with some roastiness, A creamy mouthfeel with some bitter hops mixed near the front and finshes some oatmela, chocolate, vanilla.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with FlactoAlto (thanks!). Poured a dark black, with red edges, and a huge sized tan head. Aromas of roast, lactose, oatmeal, and licorice. Tastes of coffee, roast, light oatmeal, and some bitter chocolate. Lively body.
