Commercial Description:
A traditional stout using dark roasted malted barley to create a full-bodied ale. Rounded with the smooth flavor of oats, the addition of English Kent Goldings hops produces a creamy stout that has proven to be a favorite.

Pours thick black with minimal head. Aroma of roasted malt and a hint of oatmeal. Taste is very dry and acrid. There is a tiny bit of oatmeal in the background, but there is no residual sweetness in this beer, and the over-use of roasted malts really kills the taste.

Courtesy of gunhaver. Pours dark brown with thin off white head. The aroma is very nice and inviting with roast, molasses, some toffee, chocolate and smooth mild burnt malts. The taste begins thin with roast and burnt malts then moving into hints of molasses and chocolate. The burnt malts grow into the finish. The nose overstated the goodness of the flavor. Still mighty fine though.

APPEARANCE: Pours an opaque black color with a small tan head that dissipates at an average rate. Small amount of lacing. AROMA: Not a lot of aroma. Earthy hops, alcohol, molasses and coffee. FLAVOR: Relatively light flavor. Roasted malts, unsweetened chocolate and slight earthy hops. MOUTHFEEL: Light to medium body with a watery texture. Soft carbonation. DRINKABILITY: Very easy to drink but so is water. NOTES: BBCSD-0902-MikeM
