A traditional stout using dark roasted malted barley to create a full-bodied ale. Rounded with the smooth flavor of oats, the addition of English Kent Goldings hops produces a creamy stout that has proven to be a favorite.

(Tap @ Old Chicago, Glendale, AZ): Pours a dark blackish color. Smallish tannish head. Slight coffee aroma, more chocolately, but not very strong. Crisp watery taste. Some chocolate-coffee taste.

Dark brown pour with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, baker’s chocolate and coffee. Flavors of dry roasty malt, bitter/sour coffee and light dark chocolate. Medium body, roasty/bitter/lightly sweet with a roasty bitter finish.

Thanks to Hellbilly for the bottle. Pour is black with a minimal brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel and a bit smokey. Weak flavor of coffee and roasted malt. Slight bitterness and metallic. Light and watery. Not my fave for sure.

Bottle; poured a dark brown with small to medium light brown head. Aroma of oatmeal/milk, chocolate and toasted malt. Initially thin palate; makes it drinkable. Flavor was good, not great. Not very sweet; flavor similar to the aroma. All in all, it was about average.

Sampled at No Anchovies in Tucson. Pours nice and dark with a thin brown head on it. Flavor is very nice with a thick malty base and a rich oatmeal flavor. A solid brew thats worth a try.

Bottle thanlks to Hellbilly: Pours very dark almost completely black with a 1 finger brown and gray head. Aroma is equally malty and roasty. Flavor is rich and smooth with plenty of malty backbone to balance all the usual dark roasty notes. Medium creamy body. Hop character is hidden but this beer isnt really sweet. Its balanced enough. Very drinkable and hits all the right notes.
