Commercial Description:
A traditional stout using dark roasted malted barley to create a full-bodied ale. Rounded with the smooth flavor of oats, the addition of English Kent Goldings hops produces a creamy stout that has proven to be a favorite.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with next to no head. The aroma is very roasted combined with notes of oatmeal, malt, coffee, and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, as well as notes of hard roasted coffee, dark bitter chocolate, oatmeal, and a bit of oranges. The end is dry and quite roasted.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of FlacoAlto. Pours black and opaque with a creamy, light brown head. Lighly burned malt aroma with a vanilla whiff. The body is fairly light with burned malt accents that also leave a solid malt bitterness. Decent. 290308

(draft) Black with creamy tan head. Aroma is roasty, slightly chocolate and floral. Taste is rich and slightly vinous, medium sweetness, strong roasty malty. Finishes with nice English hoppiness. Very nice beer.

The Fonefan/Brugmansia Cnudde tasting. Courtesy of Papsoe. Black/brown with a small head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and citrussy hops. The flavour has notes of coffee, licorice and the finish is bitter and dry. I miss a bit of sweetness, the smooth and the round body, that I expect in an oat, the hops are a bit too dominating IMO. OK, sure, but just not one I’ll drink again.
