FlacoAlto (2473), Tucson, Arizona, USA Jan 5, 2004 This beer is a nice clear deep copper color, it is topped by a pale cream colored head. The aroma is predominantly of banana, but there is some dark fruit notes as well. This beer is a good example of the clove flavor that this yeast can develop. There is a bit of characteristic banana in the taste as well. This beer is very smooth, there are not any detectable harsh esters that can sometimes be found in Weizen. Despite the 8% alcohol, no alcohol is evident in the taste. There is a bit of drying acidity in the finish, which is slightly reminiscent of lemons. There is perhaps a hint of chocolate as well, though it is pretty subtle. This is a nice crisp Weizen Bock with an apple-like bite.
