SuzyGreenberg (1318), Seattle, Washington, USA Jun 3, 2008 draft @ uber - clear and dark amber with slight off-white head; light flavors or caramel and malt; rich flavors and texture; drinks smooth with a nice hop kick; very nice presario (2953), Calgary, Alberta, Canada May 25, 2008 Bottle. Dark red beer, almost brown. Great rich aroma. Smokey dark malt flavour. Very nice. Reid (1084), Salem, Oregon, USA May 22, 2008 Dark brown, slightly reddish complexion, nice looking dirty white head.
Very nice hoppy strong aroma, piney, floral, great
Nice hoppyness in the taste too..pretty dominanat though to be honest the semi-sweet malt profile is large. There seems to be a battle in my mouth bewteen the two, it ends in an uneasy truce as the hops fade out half way down the throat. Very nice.
Good smooth palate, slightly sticky but alcohol well hidden.
LIked this one a lot, not up with Arrogant Bastard, but would like to taste fresh at brewery. skoisirius (570), Seattle, Washington, USA May 21, 2008 On tap and in a 22oz bottle. On tap, this beer was fantastic. Nicely balanced sweet caramel malt with a blend of citrusy bitter hops. Great finish. Out of the bottle was a completely different, semi-flavorless experience. Odd. Rating is the taste on tap. spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA May 21, 2008 Aroma is big floral hops.
Pours deep rich dark brown with red highlights. Full light tan head with plenty of lacing. Taste is big malt profile with strong citrus hops. Much more balanced than some other strong ales. Alcohol is well hidden. An enjoyable brew will have some more. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA May 15, 2008 Clear mahogany color with a fleeting head. Good aroma is sweet bread and roasted malts. Mouthfeel is a bit thin and watery. Mild flavors of caramel malts with a bit of roastiness. Has a mild hop flavor to finish. Tastes watered down.
