Commercial Description:
Brewed and dedicated to the believers of Ninkasi. Rich dark malt complexity is balanced by a plentiful hop presence bringing together perfection in every sip. Who knew believing had so many rewards.

A great spin on the red ale. Like a Belgian strong, but not too strong. Good malty feel with a bit of fruits and good hop balance.

Aroma is big floral hops. Pours deep rich dark brown with red highlights. Full light tan head with plenty of lacing. Taste is big malt profile with strong citrus hops. Much more balanced than some other strong ales. Alcohol is well hidden. An enjoyable brew will have some more.

On tap and in a 22oz bottle. On tap, this beer was fantastic. Nicely balanced sweet caramel malt with a blend of citrusy bitter hops. Great finish. Out of the bottle was a completely different, semi-flavorless experience. Odd. Rating is the taste on tap.

Another Oregon Brew- Bottle, Reddish brown pour with a foamy head. A rather rich looking ale with a bread and hops texture. Citrus notes and some dryness.

I’m learning to think of Ninkasi the same way I think of Rogue - decent flavors and good ideas, but everything they brew tastes watered down. This one (on tap at Snoose Junction) pours a dark amber with a small head. Very malty - ripe fruits, and some brown sugars... not nearly enough hops to counter. Above all, it tastes like someone drank half my beer and then stuck it under the faucet to make it seem like they hadn’t. Any ale marked "double" needs to be far stronger than this, in both flavor and abv. I’m disappointed.

Bottle. Dark brown/orange pour with very little carbonation. Aroma was sweet caramelly malts and some nice hops. Flavor was tin/copper and burnt sugar while finishing with a little hop bite. Ok beer, but was really hoping for something more out of this one.

Pours a rich copper bronze with a good creamy head that clings to the side of the glass. Rich malt sweetness fills the aroma. Touches of dark fruits, could be berries and a rich mahogonay finish. Warmth in the mid palate, quite complex but finishes a little bile-like - but not in a bad way. A 1-beer on a winter night for me.
