| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 31, 2006 On tap at Concordia ale house. This was a hoppy winter IPA kinda brew. Poured very cloudy with lots of protiens or something swimming around. The hops were strong and citrusy with a kinda muted grapefruit taste. Not much up front for sweetness, just a big bitter finish. I wish winter brews like this were a bit more malty. after4ever (2806), Brier, Washington, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 14, 2007 Draft at Uber. Pours deep grainy, murky brown with a thinnish dirty white head of some moussiness. Sharp piney/woody hop nose. Medium body, firm carb, and plenty of woodiness on the attack, too. In fact, the woodiness may change form a bit as it moves through the palate, but it’s always there from the nose through the finish--pinier on the nose, more leathery on the attack, and a bit more tobacco-like on the finish, but always there. This is nice stuff, but the subdued dark malt flavors under a harshly resiny hop payload thing is maybe starting to get a little played. Not that it’s tiresome, it’s just waiting for a cool idea to shake it up a bit. riversideAK (2775), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 11, 2008 Pours a dark red/brown with a nice head and lacing. Aromas of floral piney hops, light citrus, and some caramel and toasty malts. Nice and hoppy with a pepper, floral, and citrus bitterness profile. Some toasted malts, caramel, and perhaps toffee make up the malt profile. Nice lingering hoppiness. Very good brew. IrishBoy (2719), Bakersfield, California, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 17, 2008 Appearance: Pours a dark mahogany-hued body with a thin ring of white bubbles up top.
Smell: Toasted grains and caramel with a distant, though distinct spicy hoppiness.
Taste: Grainy, caramel maltiness with a light amount of sweetness. Even some roast in there too. Spicy, woody hop character with a medium-high bitterness. Hint of lemon zest. Dry, grainy finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Adequate and drinkable, I’ll give it at least that much.
