Aroma is pretty neutral. Nothing special and that’s made it average in my opinion. Taste was dark chocolate, some earth and plenty of smoke. Overall, decent. And wish i would have had a couple more. Thanks pal! BillKismet (1952), Seattle, Washington, USA

To me, this was a fabulous Am. Strong Ale/Double IPA. Deep amber hue with adequate head. Gushing cascade boquet, and a flooding of Cascade rounded out my some of the usual PNW suspects. Adequate bitterness, but it definitely takes a back seat to the later edition hops. I would surmise that this is dry hopped with cascade hops--gives it a desirable, raw, edgy hop leaf flavor. Top notch. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 6, 2008 22oz Bottle. Nice floral hoppy nose. It has that nice juicy combination of west coast hops with good fragrant malts in a red. Maybe a touch of slightly rotty malt stems. Pours a translucent bright red, with a good creamy tan foam. Flavor is decent. There is an edge of isovaleric that is particular to me. Otherwise, a decent dry malt edge, some good west coast floral, and a flourish of under the table yeast. Decent, drinkable, fresh and flavorful. Nice bright grassy finish. Decent. Thanks Darrell! LinusStick (1851), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 3, 2009 A nice if not typical American strong. Aroma was mostly dish soap with a strong citrus element. Pour was a dark gold wiht a good bit of bubbles and a one finger off white head. Taste was mostly strong and earthy hops with a strong light caramel backbone and a moderate alcohol burn. Very good. Beer2000 (1839), Kristiansand, Norway

An interesting and well made mix of IPA and red ale.
