Still solid though and well balanced. Glad I tried it. ratman197 (3262), Arvada, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 30, 2008 Bomber poured a clear dark reddish amber with a lingering ring of ambere foam. Aromas of carmel, cocoa, citrus and light earthiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, cocoa, nuts, earthiness and light fruittiness with a smooth dry lingering malty finish.
A nice malty red for a change, but I’d still like a bit more fruittiness. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 6, 2009 Bottle. Hazy ruddy brown color, thin broken soapy white head. Very malt-forward aroma, but some earthy hops in background. Taste has more of a hop presence, but certainly not overwhelming or even significant, more of a simple citric finish. Decent, well-held together, but not hoppy enough for something called a double red. mobster07 (18), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 16, 2006 A malty IPA. A very skunky/dank aroma with resin/piney hops which drew my senses in. Some sweet malt also noticed in the aroma. Flavor was that of a resin/piney hoped IPA with extra "maltyness". Quite drinkable but not to enough to make me say wow.... good beer anyway you look at it though! DJMonarch (6941), Northwich, Cheshire, England

Hop aroma. Bronze coloured strong in alcohol and a little fruity with a hint of bitterness in a crisp and dry malt finish. ChainGangGuy (2613), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 17, 2008 Appearance: Pours a dark mahogany-hued body with a thin ring of white bubbles up top.
Smell: Toasted grains and caramel with a distant, though distinct spicy hoppiness.
Taste: Grainy, caramel maltiness with a light amount of sweetness. Even some roast in there too. Spicy, woody hop character with a medium-high bitterness. Hint of lemon zest. Dry, grainy finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Adequate and drinkable, I’ll give it at least that much.
