PIB... Foggy, dull burgundy in the glass. Aroma of figs and malt and the beer tickles on the tongue with flavors of malt, caramel, a floral combination of fruit and sweets, and ends with a wonderful hop finish.

Really beautiful ruby red body with suprisingly little head. Lots of floral hops on the nose. Very grainy character with a big, sweet semi-burnt caramel backbone. Lots of Earthy hop notes with moderate citrus. Some toffee notes as well. Really great drink.

22oz bottle via hagen. Pours a dark copper with a chunky beige head. Nose is toasted malts and citrus hops. Taste starts bittersweet and ends bittersweet, in between there are a LOT of flavors. Caramel, molasses, buttered biscuits, orange, grapefruit and even some pine that carries into the aftertaste. This is quite hoppy for a red ale and almost has some rye-like qualities, has a good strong malt backbone. Almost reminds me of a good black IPA. This is unique and very well thought out recipe, executed perfectly!

Picked up a 22-oz bomber from Liquidsolutions.biz in Oregon. Pours a clear light brownish amber brew with a thinoff-white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and white ring. Aroma of light spice, citrusy zest hops, a touch of roasted Bavarian malt and caramel. Taste is slightly hoppy, medium bodied with some carbonation with flavors of roasted caramel malt and plenty of herbs and citrus zest hops. Finish is more hop than malt aftertaste that is quite enjoyable.

A great spin on the red ale. Like a Belgian strong, but not too strong. Good malty feel with a bit of fruits and good hop balance.

22oz bottle Deep mahogany color, big frothy light brown head. Lots of sweet caramel and roasted barley smells. Spicy woodsy hops there also. Mouthfeel is very soft and smooth on this medium-heavy brew. Taste is sweet and toasty caramalts and roasted barley thats balanced by spicy herbal/woody hops with a hint of citrus peel. Pretty drinkable.

Lovely red color with almost no head. Very piney in the nose with caramel, pine and roast malt in the mouth. I’ve probably drank more of this beer in the last two years than any other brew because you can get it on tap anywhere in town and it’s just so damn tasty. This little brewery from Eugene is going to make some big noise in the next few years, keep your ear to the ground! Also Jamie is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met, so I hope he meets with tons of success. Can’t wait for Oatis in bottles!
