Oct 18, 2008 Lovely red color with almost no head. Very piney in the nose with caramel, pine and roast malt in the mouth. I’ve probably drank more of this beer in the last two years than any other brew because you can get it on tap anywhere in town and it’s just so damn tasty. This little brewery from Eugene is going to make some big noise in the next few years, keep your ear to the ground! Also Jamie is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met, so I hope he meets with tons of success. Can’t wait for Oatis in bottles!

Jul 22, 2009 Got this bottle about three weeks ago at Sam’s in Chicago. And it’s pretty good beer. Appearance is ok: very light tan to off-white head and lace. Color is a very hazy medium brown. Sediment in the bottom says bottle conditioned. Aroma is hoppy and a darkish malt. Flavor is like some of the other Ninkasi beers much more interesting than the nose. Pick up a lot of maltiness, a little caramel, toffee, a hint of roastiness - tasty. Balanced. Body is good too - good carbonation. Finish is milder than the sipping flavor.

Sep 29, 2008 on tap from bombs away cafe in corvalis after a osu beavers game. dark brown and red pour. sweet caramel malts and piney hops in the aroma. grain and malt roastiness backed with citrus hops. have a note that I detected cherry jam at some point (dunno, it was a long day of drinking). medium body. good. May 5, 2008 pours a deep cranberry red color with a big tan head. aroma is malty with hints of pine. flavor is very hoppy with notes of tart grapefruit, a bit of caramel, and lots of pine. a very well rounded beer.

Nov 13, 2009 Again, another nice beer out of Cali brought back by Buddy. Pours pitch black. Aroma is pretty neutral. Nothing special and that’s made it average in my opinion. Taste was dark chocolate, some earth and plenty of smoke. Overall, decent. And wish i would have had a couple more. Thanks pal!

Nov 19, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark red with a small, rapidly disappearing tan head. Aroma of sweet malt , fruits, strawberry seeds and raspberry seeds. Flavor of bitter hops, toast, and light fruits. Easy drinking and quite tasty! More of an amber ale than ASA to me. Quite good!
