Bottle. Aroma of sweet, earthy malt, lots of red fruits/berries blending with lots of toffee. Flavor keeps some of those fruits but focuses more on the earthy malt/toffee feel. Almost a bit too earthy/grainy on the tongue for me, just not entirely my thing, but a very good beer.

Aroma is big floral hops. Pours deep rich dark brown with red highlights. Full light tan head with plenty of lacing. Taste is big malt profile with strong citrus hops. Much more balanced than some other strong ales. Alcohol is well hidden. An enjoyable brew will have some more.

2009 Bottle - Pours out a dark amber with a small, quickly dissipating tan head...aroma is dry, oily hops, slightly floral, roasty malt...flavour is similar, nice hop presence, bitter citrus and dough, burnt sugar, caramel...nice carbonation and a lingering bite...tasty.

Very deep red/amber pour, nice white head, decent lacing. Lots of grapefruit up front and a malty finished. a little muddled, but nice.

Salt, vinegar, port wine, grapes, malt and chocolate all in one beer. Somehow it works. Gift from the girls at Uber, thanks.

Bottled. Pours a very deep deep amber with decent head retention. Very hoppy on the nose with some vegetable type notes. Bitter at first then mellows to a nice mix of the hops and malt. Medium level of carbonation that fades quickly, light on the mouthfeel.

Pours a deep red with a frothy off white head, Big hops on the nose, a bit of caramel, and possibly black berries? Lots of flavor of roasted malts and a slight bitterness. Tasty.
