NickVega (71), Eugene, Oregon, USA Aug 31, 2007 Awesome! Had this on tap at the Jackalope Lounge (nice spot). This is my favorite Ninkasi so far.
acrdz (4493), Boulder, Colorado, USA Nov 30, 2008 Bottle. Unfiltered hazed honey orange. Intense grapefruit, pineapple and acidic orange hop nose - assertive, heavy, peppery, pulp-heavy. Strongly bitter and pungent, dank cannabis and churned orange pulp throughout. Wonderfully aggressive and flavorful. 17thfloor (807), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 28, 2008 I really enjoyed this beer. Pours an unclear sunburst orange/yellow with a small thick frothy white head. Huge sugared pineapple aroma, caramel malt, and fresh pine needles. This stuff is a sugar bomb! but tasty. Lots of citrus, maybe a bit of lemon, light grapefruit with a bitter pine finish. Candy-coated beer. Medium body, lightly sugary, fine carbonation, has a light and crisp quality like a good Belgian white. Not particularly refined, but rather yummy. jsquire (1911), St. Marys, Ohio, USA Nov 26, 2008 Hazy golden color out of the bottle with a thin white head. Huge hop nose of grapefruit rind and dry grass. Flavors of apple cider, apricot, pinneapple, grapefruit rind, and orange juice, with an aggressive grapefruit rind bitterness in the finish. Pretty standard IIPA. LilBeerDoctor (733), East Setauket, New York, USA Nov 20, 2008 Bottle. Pours a murky orange with a small white head. Aroma of sweet citrus and fruits. Flavor of nice fruity notes (most citrus but also some tropical fruits and apple) and light hops in the finish. Nicely balanced. This is what a IIPA should be like! Not too sweet/bitter/syrupy at all!! Excellent IIPA. fredandboboflo (722), East Setauket, New York, USA Nov 20, 2008 Bottle. Aroma first of grassy and floral hops, grapefruit starts to come in as it warms, some alcohol, maybe an off metallic note in there, but far from dominant or anything. Flavor pretty sweet with malt with the hops sort of playing the balancing role, but don’t get me wrong, they’re still evident. Pretty good, maybe just a bit sweet/syrupy, but again, nothing at all oppressive.
