Flavor was floral, citrusy, and sweet - nice hop usage with just enough tasty malt to make it smooth and tasty. Good hop combination - reminiscent of Barley’s 4 Seas DIPA (minus 1C - Columbus of course). TomDecapolis (3213), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 22, 2007 On tap at the brew pub. Pours a translucent copper with lots of golden highlights and a medium bubbly/creamy off white head that left tons of lacing. Aroma was a big handful of the 3 C hops. Loads of citrus with orange being the dominant. Nice caramel malt backbone. Flavor of you guessed it all out west coast hops, pine, grapefruit, orange, great malt balance not overly bitter with a heavy does of crystal malt and lots of fresh hop flavor. scoobyluv (486), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 11, 2006 this is very similar to the BPA in that it has a very smooth hop flavor. the floral bouquet bursts in the mouth upon first taste but it is not overpowering. i didn’t get any malt from this though but it’s still a mighty fine beer whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 10, 2006 Metallic golden-orange body with lethargic carbonation and a silky, just off-white head. Aroma is like an amped up version of their BPA with a similar C-hop profile--only more of it. Raw, hoppy flavor with some toasty and grainy malts. Finishes medium dry and warms as it goes down. Decent overall, but has a slightly harsh, over-extracted hop quality.

Good IPA flavor, sweet bitterness, caramel, notes, bitter. You can get all 3 types of hops in it. Very nice. jasonp (1513), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 28, 2006 Sampled at Lupulin Slam III, 2006. Medium amber with an off-white head. Aroma of lemongrass, citrus and leather (but not in a brett kind of way). Very astringent and cleanser-like. Very bitter and intense but not in a good way - with notes of pine, citrus and caramel. Medium light body with light carbonation. Overall, OK but compared to the others, not nearly as good. beervana (781), Libertyville, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/20 | Dec 9, 2005 On tap at the Nodding Head Brew pub, Philadelphia, PA. Clear amber hued double IPA having a diminishing small white head. Nice hoppy aroma. Medium bodied that starts with slight sweet malt and hop flavors. Finishes dry with lingering hop bitterness. A very good hoppy beer, one of Nodding Head’s best beers that I’ve tried thus far. Crash (449), Macomb, Illinois, USA

Not normally my type of beer but, I gave it a shot. Not much to look at and a bit too piney to smell but, the taste was pretty good. I’m not going to switch over to IPAs but, it was good for the style.
