| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 13, 2004 Cask... Poured a dark gold color with a decent off white head for a cask and it left nice lacing too. Nice piney, hop aroma. Bitter hop taste, full of resin. Creamy mouthfeel. This was a nice IIPA and my favorite of Friday the Firkenteenth! Aubrey (2782), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 0.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 2/5 | 2/20 | Sep 30, 2003 Well, maybe I got a bad batch or something, but even the previous ratings that aren't that great seem to rate this beer higher than I am. I thought its flavors and aromas were "dirty" and musty, and I thought it had a dirty feet-like quality to it. Maybe I'll give it another chance someday. obxdude10 (1566), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 27, 2003 I liked this beer a lot, although it certainly can't stand up to the big IPA's that DFH brew, they should certainly do their homework on what other breweries are doing before they go and sound off on the description of the beer, lots of hops everywhere in this brew, good amount in the nose as well a hint of the sweet maltiness that was to come in the medium-full body, semi-dry mouthfeel, pretty well balanced, some hints of different fruits in the flavors as well, overall a pretty good beer, but after having all the big DFH IPAs it's kinda hard to get excited for smallers ones like this Nuffield (2749), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 3, 2003 Earlier batches were lower in the ABV (approximately 7%) but my beer was advertised as "This batch is the biggest yet!". Some breweries should learn to walk before they attempt to run. At first this was interesting and curious. A notable hoppy aroma, producing a vein carried through into the flavor which suggests a Chinese grocery store--some exotic fruits, especially mango, with the background of fish for sale with diluted fish juice in the melting ice of the grocery store's display. Luminescent amber, nowhere near as syrupy as I would have thought, though it is not dry either. Bigger, lasting bitterness as it warms, making me gag. It just didn't work for me. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 17, 2003 Citrus hop aroma. Lacks the body to really stand up to this level of hopping. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 1, 2003 Golden, with a very hoppy nose. Grapefruit predominates, but has an odd, somewhat cloying character to the fruitiness. Body is thin and insufficient.
