Pours copper with a wisp of a head. Very bready malt aroma. Flavor of toaste grain, dark bread, and caramel. Very thin and water texture. Not much hop balance on the finish. The weakest beer of the sampler.

Bright copper body with medium carbonation and a silky, cream-colored head. Aroma is like sweet tea and light caramel with mild apple notes. Flavor is sweeter than anticipated with some maple qualities and very light roast. Has some graininess, earthy hop character, and medium bitterness.

On tap at the Nodding Head. Poured a deeper orange color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, toasted malts, a little roast, and a lttle nutty. Tastes of toasted malts, nuts, oranges and some caramel. Body a tad on the thin side.

"Pour a dark amber color with almost no head to it. Aroma was smoky and carmel. Not sure i would call this a scottish ale. Carmel in the taste some smoke. Mouthfeel was super thin. like nothing to it"

Draft at he brewpub. Nice beer. Can’t really say anything that the commercial description already states.

On draught at Nodding Head in Philly 2/3/2006: Medium-dark amber body, mostly clear when held to the light, with a small, light beige head that quickly dies. The aroma is faint sweet malt, light berries, with hints of earthy malt. The taste is mild, but does have flavors of light malt, caramel, grains, toffee. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, seems at times like the fermentation was stopped short. However, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with this beer in any respect - it achieves what it’s supposed to be. I’d go for another offering if I had to choose though.
