Bit sour. Light like an Amstel Light. WTF? Not enough malt by far. A sad failure.

Mild syrup/fusel aroma, sherry-berry hints, some caramel toffee. Meh. Poorly attentuated. Meh.

On tap at the Nodding Head Brew pub, Philadelphia, PA. Clear dark brown Scottish-style ale having small white diminishing head. No discernable carbonation. Sweet malt aroma. Medium bodied that starts with lightly sweet malt. Slight off-flavor (oxidation product?). Finishes with slightly sweet malt after taste. No discernable hops and bitterness. A good drinkable malty session beer, similar to Bass ale.

Poured amber with a tan head. Not a bad looking beer. The head retention was descent. Very little aroma a bit of vanilla and caramel were present. Same deal with the taste. A bit tangy with a nasty aftertaste which I am still tasting right now. Pretty weak.

medium nutty brown color, very light tan short foamy head. aroma is nutty, sour hop & malt. flavor is weak caramel malt, tingly carbonation. a very faint earthyness in the middle. finish is a little tart/straw. tangy aftertaste. this is a very weak version of the style.

A good looking amber appearance with a tan head. A nice malt aroma that is followed with a smooth taste that offers some notes of caramel and vanilla.

Deep amber color with a small tan head. Malty and roasty aroma. Light smoke and caramel taste with a hint of vanilla. A very easy beer to drink, but not a great example of a scotch ale. Very thin and a bit weak.

This is a scotch ale??? On draught at the Nodding Head. Reddish color with a thin head, chemically nose (perhaps a dirty glass?). Thin nutty taste, very cereal like. Absolutley devoid of any bitterness.... no discernable hops. Reminds me of homebrew.
