Pours copper, smells and tastes sweet. Was kind of plain and dry. Not bad but not great scotch ale. I wasn’t sure where it was going.

Nose is almost nonexistent. Small, white head with a good amount of lacing. Pours a clear sparkling copper. Flavor is sweet with a moderately sweet finish and a touch of alcohol. Medium-bodied with a watery feel around the mouth and a fair amount of fizz. Decent, although not particularly noteworthy. (Draft at brewpub in Philly)

Draught @ Brewery: Very little scent. Pourded medium brown color with small, non-lasting brownish head. Taste was pretty good. Not too malty, as I had expected it would be. Roasted and toasted notes with a bit of vanilla. Easy to drink. Overall, I could have a few of these, but I still prefer IPAs.

On draft at the Philly Fringe Festival Cabaret in Poor Henry’s old spot. Thin, weak, forgettable brown ale. Too bad.

Malty aroma, but weak. Copper-brown clear with thin off-white lacing head. Medium body with medium-high carbonation. Starts with medium malts, light acidity, no bitterness. Dry caramel malt, light sweetness. Hint of café, nuttiness. After is papery with some nuttiness.

Pours dark brown with some malt, toffee, and cognac aromas. Tastes of malt, toffee, some hops. A little thin on mouthfeel.
