Draft @ NH - Dark orange, creamy off white head. Soft chocolate malt and caramel nose ride light cherry notes throughout. Cherry caramel cream flavors balance on notes of toasted earth. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, malty finish. Decent, but quite dull for this style in my book...

(10/19/08) Draught sample at the brewpub in Philadelphia. Clear deep amber color. Malty aroma with some earthy notes and light hoppy hints. Sweet malty flavor with some bread and a bit of fruits. Medium-bodied. Not great.

Draft - part of sampler at brewery. Pours lighter brown with orange highlights. Light malt in the aroma, with some earthy notes. Flavor is again the mild malts, with some caramel sweetness and some earthy/grassy components. Pretty nice. Very drinkable.

Draft: Poured a dark amber color, not a lot of head. The aroma was earthy and sweet. The flavor was very smooth, slightly malty, and a tad sweet. Overall, this brew was good, but the flavor was a little dull.

Pours a clear darker reddish brown. Leafy nose. Flavor is even and smooth. Some wood and caramely/wood syrup characteristics kicking in there. Feel is about average. Okay drinkability. No great shakes here. There are a lot greater examples out there, but it’s still a good stab at the style, though.
