kwoeltje (1313), Manchester, Missouri, USA Oct 31, 2009 (draught) deep amber with nice head and nice lace. Citrus hops aroma. Flavor was an ok malt background dominated by citrus/grassy hops. MaltDawg (778), Richmond, Virginia, USA Sep 18, 2009 Nodding Head BPA Bill Payer Ale. Hand pump at the brewery. Dry hopped. Floral hop nose - light caramel. Clear amber golden. Fairly dark with small fine white head. Grassy floral hop flavor over light caramel maltiness. Finish is clean dry and moderately bitter. PDG I thought. WeeHeavySD (2940), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Aug 12, 2009 tap at nodding head yesterday. Pours orange with a 2 finger tan head. The nose was all fucked up, skunky skunky skunky. Taste is sweet, hoppy ok, but the nose ruined it for me. decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Aug 5, 2009 Copper pour with a creamy white head and lace. Light earthy hop aroma. Sweet caramel maltiness, light spice, and a hint of citrus hops. A tad thin with nice low carbonation. puzzl (2579), New York, New York, USA Mar 23, 2009 Tap at the brewpub. Very bitter flavor, with little citrus or otherwise distinct hop character. A touch sweetish. Kind of farty, dryish, bitter light malts and minerals are noted. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Mar 18, 2009 Golden colour with a big hoppy aroma. Lots of fresh resiny pine and a soft lemon/orange citrus as well. There is a light kiss of pine as well. It’s pretty well-balanced though. Fairly assertive bitterness on the back. Lots of hoppy flavour but it comes through less on the aroma. I quite like it though. jmm635 (249), Havertown, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 8, 2009 Light amber color with a thick white head. Aroma of hops and some citrus. Maltier on the tongue than I expected. Goes down easy. Drinkable, but I wouldn’t be upset if I never had it again. blipp (1612), Newark, New Jersey, USA Mar 6, 2009 Draft at the brewpub. Pours amber with an off white head. Sweet malt aroma with citric hops, probably Cascade. Flavor has citric/floral hops up front, again I’m guessing Cascade, with a solid amount of caramel malt sweetness as well. Very nice.
