Flavor is a great balance between slightly toasted malt, hop spiciness and true, fresh hop flavors. The only thing keeping this from scoring higher is that I wish there was a slight bit more hop twang at the finish. A great session beer for hop lovers. obxdude10 (1562), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Sep 1, 2002 Amber in color, lacy white head, fruity & floral aroma, I agree with jca_lbi in that this IPA doesn’t have the ’west coast’ hoppiness as the brewery claims, spicy & hoppy finish, citrusy flavors as well, excellent IPA

Enticing fresh hop aroma, balanced with a hint of roasted malt. The taste does not disappoint, with an excellent balance of medium malt followed by the crisply-proportioned hop finish that lingers enjoyable in the top of your mouth. This is the best Nodding Head beer I tried and the only one I would order again. BillKismet (1948), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 1, 2009 Eastern PA does APA’s right. Nearby Stoudt’s produces another favorite. This was by far the best brew I imbibed at Nodding Head and is a highly quaffable, sessionable brew. Fills a glass with its brassy body and shaving cream head. Delightfully hoppy. Although the aromas are complex, I am told it solely uses Cascades, with which, living in the PNW, I am intimately accustomed to. However here, the Cascades are let to shine like in few other brews. Giving off a pinyness, floralness, and spiced forest character. The flavor demonstrates similar Cascade complexity with the only detraction a slight soapy pinyness on the finish. Outstanding. jcwattsrugger (5563), Florida and, New Jersey, USA
