Nodding Head BPA Bill Payer Ale. Hand pump at the brewery. Dry hopped. Floral hop nose - light caramel. Clear amber golden. Fairly dark with small fine white head. Grassy floral hop flavor over light caramel maltiness. Finish is clean dry and moderately bitter. PDG I thought.

On tap at the brewpub. Transparent gold with a frothy white head. Nice floral, spicy aroma, all hops. Flavor was nice too, spice, soap, earthy. Finish was bitter and dry.

Eastern PA does APA’s right. Nearby Stoudt’s produces another favorite. This was by far the best brew I imbibed at Nodding Head and is a highly quaffable, sessionable brew. Fills a glass with its brassy body and shaving cream head. Delightfully hoppy. Although the aromas are complex, I am told it solely uses Cascades, with which, living in the PNW, I am intimately accustomed to. However here, the Cascades are let to shine like in few other brews. Giving off a pinyness, floralness, and spiced forest character. The flavor demonstrates similar Cascade complexity with the only detraction a slight soapy pinyness on the finish. Outstanding.

(draught) deep amber with nice head and nice lace. Citrus hops aroma. Flavor was an ok malt background dominated by citrus/grassy hops.

tap at nodding head yesterday. Pours orange with a 2 finger tan head. The nose was all fucked up, skunky skunky skunky. Taste is sweet, hoppy ok, but the nose ruined it for me.

Copper pour with a creamy white head and lace. Light earthy hop aroma. Sweet caramel maltiness, light spice, and a hint of citrus hops. A tad thin with nice low carbonation.

Tap at the brewpub. Very bitter flavor, with little citrus or otherwise distinct hop character. A touch sweetish. Kind of farty, dryish, bitter light malts and minerals are noted.

Golden colour with a big hoppy aroma. Lots of fresh resiny pine and a soft lemon/orange citrus as well. There is a light kiss of pine as well. It’s pretty well-balanced though. Fairly assertive bitterness on the back. Lots of hoppy flavour but it comes through less on the aroma. I quite like it though.
