Pours jet-black with a thick, creamy tan head that seems to last to the end. Aroma of roasted malts, semi-sweet chocolate. Flavor is on the sweet side, roasted malts, chocolate. Very creamy. A little on the bland side, but not bad and very easy to drink. stegosaurus (1883), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 17, 2007 On draft at Capones. Pours dark with an off-white head. Aroma of roasted chocolate malts. The flavor is smooth, slightly sweet, and roast. Thin body, good brew. whaleman (2168), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 6, 2007 Nitro at Capone’s. Translucent, dark ruby body with a big, creamy tan head. Interesting aromas of chocolate, roast, and dark rum. Flavor has qualities of chocolate extract and substantial lactose sweetness. Ultimately, this seems too sweet and artificial by comparison with other chocolate stouts.
kkearn (689), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 24, 2007 Nitro Draft @ Capone’s (Norristown, PA) Black, with a thick tan head. Aroma was on the weaker side, but mainly chocolate malt. Nice malty cocoa flavor. I think I’d enjoy this more without the nitro.
