Apr 17, 2004 13 lbs of pure Vallhrona cocoa powder per batch according to teh Mid-Atlantic Brewing News. Black with nice tan head and lace. Roasty malt aroma. Flavor is espresso with black chocolate. The chocolate flavor doesn't overwhelm the stout. Very good.

Feb 16, 2007 yep tastes like chocolate. it appears to be nitrogen but the texture says otherwise. tastes like a less impressive Rogue chocolate stout. i said to myself this tastes like a rogue chocolate stout homebrew clone.

Feb 21, 2007 Draft at Capone’s. Deep black color.Good Lacing. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee. Full body. Rich, if not quite creamy texture. Slightly sweet and bitter finish. Pretty good. Not great.

Mar 23, 2009 Tap at the brewpub. Some big coffee/roast and smelly bathroom aroma, some chocolate. Bubblegum and chocolately flavor, milk, sweetish with mild grain character. Nice body, low carbonation. As with a lot of beers from these guys, the beer is pretty decent but some off flavors really put a damper in the experience.

Feb 22, 2007 Draft at Capone’s. I loved the look of this one, with a deep black color topped by a gorgeous, 2-finger, creamy tan head, and tons of lace. The aroma was roasty malt, some chocolate. The flavor was on the dry side, with roasty malt, some dark chocolate notes, and slight coffee hints. Very creamy.

Mar 18, 2009 Aroma is lightly cocoaish. Light Belgian spiciness with a kiss of clove. Slightly phenolic but the chocolate does come through pretty nicely. Soft full palate. Lightly chewy with a lingering sweetness. There is a kiss of licorice flavour as well on the finish. Pretty decent.

Feb 24, 2007 Updated: Feb 15, 2009Nitro Draft @ Capone’s (Norristown, PA) Black, with a thick tan head. Aroma was on the weaker side, but mainly chocolate malt. Nice malty cocoa flavor. I think I’d enjoy this more without the nitro.
Sampled again on tap at Nodding Head 2/12/09. Poured very deep brown, nearly opaque, with a dark tan head. Aroma is primarily cocoa, with some other roasted malts. Chocolate malt and cocoa are the main flavors, along with some dark fruit and slight vinous notes.
Body is a bit thin.
