Tap @ the pub. Poured a hazy gold color with a thin off-white head. The aroma had some citrus notes mixed into a sweet bready malt. Mild spice and some orange skin. The flavor was fairly estery with some spices that included white pepper. Good warmth on the finish. Medium bodied.

Draught tulip at Nodding Head on 1/19/07
A small but even amount of snow white head sits atop a mostly clear bronze body that has goldleaf hues. Head eventually disappears, leaving no lacing.
Slight powdered/corn sugar in the nose combines with leafy, slightly vegetal notes. It grows slightly more clean as it progresses, adding light floral aromatics and some juicy citrus notes (oranges mainly). The residual sugars combine with the hops to produce candied orange and orange blossom honey notes. Warm honey drizzled biscuit-like notes provide the main interest. Moderate acidity (coriander?) on the finish, with light alcohol sharpness and some dough notes as well. Medium strength of aroma.
Simple sugars coat the tongue on first sip and again I’m left thinking that the malt is underdone and this beer has the adjunct/candi sugar to support it. Dry, somewhat hard texture, with light stickiness does not feel or taste like malt, nor does it leave a pleasant finish, leaving notes of corn and sharp alcohol and making for a rather weak texture (it gets watery and loose, despite the lower carbonation). Lots of acidity coming from somewhere, probably the honey fermenting. Little bit of floral hoppiness and light citrus notes. Too pungent/acidic, without the requisite tight carbonation for the style. Sweetness is rather basic and the corn notes certainly don’t help.

Complex and defies characterization. At $3/taster, it had better be good, and this was (mostly). Very sweet with lots of honey, this brew has honey added, which is noticeable. Very unusual. Tastes more like 6% abv instead of 9%.

Draught from wine glass. This one is pretty interesting - light golden color with medium head. Very sweet orange-honey aroma. Taste is overwhelmingly sweet with lots of citrys and some honey, plus a rather nice flowery taste. Not typical by any means - nice change of pace.

On draught at Nodding Head in Philly 2/3/2006: Beautiful pale golden colored body, mostly clear, with a medium, lasting, rocky white head. The aroma is sweet malt, orange rind, light citrus, spices, and yeast. Upon tasting, I think how well this one hides the alcohol. There’s notes of coriander, orange rind, mild yeast, crisp sweet malts, and a bit of honey. The spices taste artificial to me, almost as if just a bit too much was added. Light-medium bodied, very crisp and clean in the mouth, medium carbonation (I wouldn’t mind it more lively but to be fair this is on tap and I’m compairing it to bottle-conditioned beers). Well worth a try.

"Poured a medium golden color with okay head in the tulip glass. Aroma was very weak nearly impossiable to pick up anything besides citrus. Flavor was citrusy some orange rind and grapefruit in there corandier some honey. Hid the alcohol well. Was good not amazing"

Draft, at Nodding Head. My fiance is always excited to see this on the draft list at Nodding Head. Pours orange amber, capped with an average-sized white head. Aroma of orange zest, honey, coriander and wheat. Flavor is somewhat sweat, with honey, apricot, citrus, wheat, and spice. Medium bodied, with a slightly syrupy mouthfeel. A nice sipper.

Sample @ UPenn tutored Tasting ’07. Poured a nice pale golden color. Aroma was a bit unusual - Citrus, honey, slight malt - none being very prominent. Flavor was much the same, with some spices (coriander?) coming through. A touch on the sweet side. A little on the dry side, somewhat thin mouthfeel. Alcohol is completely hidden.
