| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 30, 2007 I’m proud to pop the 10-rate-cherry on this beer, and it was great meeting Hopdog at this event. Draft at Capone’s, followed by another two drafts at Capone’s. This one is good. It looks like Oggi’s Hop Whompus, a ruddy, muddy, deep brown pour that looks rough around the edges; liks a glass of Schuylkill River water at best. The aroma was a mix of fresh wet hops, heavy scotch aley malt, some dark fruit, and some black peppery notes. The palate was hefty, and the hops were bold, wet, green, and fresh, backed by a huge malt bill that melded greatly. There was no apparent heat at all, and I still cannot believe this is a 12% beer. This beer is outstanding. Zeswaft (1000), Seattle, Washington, USA

I don’t know nodding head. try some simcoe, or amarillo. jason (1624), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 24, 2007 Draught at Capone’s. Deep orange body with big soapy head. Citrusy aroma, piney. Flavor is full of sweet pines, grapefruits. Nice malty backbone. Alcohol is present but overall a sweet syrupy, somewhat smooth IIPA. JB175 (1664), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 24, 2007 Draft @ Capone’s (unprecedented? - 2 "Hoptimus Primes" from 2 different brewers on the same menu?) Hazy, golden color with a minimal head. Aroma is full of citrus, grass, & pine with lots of malt sweetness. Taste was smooth, uncarbonated, and quite sweet/hoppy - lots of citrus and some grassy notes. Nice "Triple IPA" - kind of a local try at Pliny the Younger. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 24, 2007 On draft at Capone’s. Pours light amber with a small white head. Aroma of caramel malts and citrusy pine hops. The flavor is sweet caramel upfront, spices, citrusy pine bitterness in the finish. egajdzis (3636), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 23, 2007 [Draft @ Capones] Poured an amber color with a small white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, raw, floral hops, citrus, a bit of tobacco, and caramel as well. Taste of piney skunk, strong herb, tobacco, sweet caramel malts, with citrus, a bit of vanilla, and moderate alcohol in the finish. Freshie! PWalk (337), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 27, 2006 Heavy citrus and hop in the aroma. Maltier flavor than I expected with a decent amount of hop but not overwhelming. Nice burn in the finish with a good bite. Very tasty overall. One pint was my lunch for the day.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 23, 2006 On tap at the Nodding Head. This one was the reason I went down there today. Billed as a ’tripel IPA’ for what that’s worth. Poured a medium and clear orange color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of oranges, other citrus fruits, caramel, and pine. Tastes of grapefruit, oranges, caramel, lighter pine, and all around sweet malts. Body was definiltey on the ’chewy’ side. Warm alcohol finish. Nicely balanced.
