It’s unique - basically like chowing down at a chinese buffet and drinking a normal lager beer, but oddly contained within a beer. the lemongrass is nice and makes it taste like thai food. very pale yellow extremely white tight head. the ginger is notable too. nice light beer and light afteraste. overall chinese buffets = garbage bin but thiis is a good experience to have once, it’s unique and not terrible. hopdog (5617), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a light straw color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of light grass and ginger. Tastes of grass, stronger ginger, citrus and a honey sweetness. Thinner body. A little to herbal and thin for my tastes. hophead75 (1964), Boonton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 21, 2006 sampler at brewpub. light straw color with good carbonation. Aroma is of ginger and leongrass(obviously) with some tart fruit and light sweetness. Taste is lightly tart, lemony, and alot of ginger across the palate-Am I drinking a beer or eating sushi...hmmmmmm...nice though. Refreshing. Would be a good pair with some sashimi, I think. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 11, 2005 Made with lemongrass and ginger as noted, flavor evokes Asian tropics. Lager base adds to smooth character. Best drank cold; flavor stars to turn grainy-sour as it warms and the effect of the ginger & lemongrass diminish. Interesting summer brew. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 2, 2005 OK first off, I got a story about the Monkey Knife Fight that the Philly peeps might not know - about three years ago there were a bunch of graffitti-stenciled sidewalks in the Mission District in SF CA that said "monkey knife fight" and had a funny little graphic of three monkeys with knives to boot. for about a year, nobody knew what it was for or where it came from, no bands or gangs would fess up! there was even an article in the SF Gaurdian about the mystery. well the bartender said that the phrase comes from a Simpson’s episode, but we still don’t know which came first... back to the rating.... clear yellow gold color, a little fizz up the body. dense foamy white head. lemongrass & faintly sour hop aroma. flavor is LOTS of ginger right away! clashes a little with the lager-like flavors of slightly sour hops. the finish is a little dry and a little bitter. the aftertaste is lots of dry ginger powder. very creative foray. Little bit of yeast in the aroma with some citrus. Same in the flavor with some decent malt to it as well. skisangelo (60), Collingswood, New Jersey, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 26, 2005 This is one of my favorite summer brews, and still ranks high on my favorite names list. Pours a clear pale gold with little head. A wonderful aroma of lemon and ginger. Only problem was we kept going back for it, but they never brewed it the rest of the summer. The night I had it, I drank so much I couldn’t see straight. A very good beer. swirl (267), collingswood, New Jersey, USA

It has a wonderful aroma, great appearance and the mouth feel is tremendous. Being from Jersey it is always a treat to cross the bridge and hit Nodding Heads for some great food and even better beer.
