On tap at Hard Liver Barleywine Festival 09, Brouwer’s Cafe. Crystal clear medium amber. Loose sudsy off-white film. Mild orangey nose. Fairly thin body, comparatively speaking, and somewhat watery. Tangy, estery orange and doughy malts on the mid-palate. Mild sweet finish.

’08 on tap at Brouwers hard liver fest ’09.

Light orange pour, lighter than the other samples for the evening, limited head. Piney and acerbic aroma, vegetal off-falvors. Some hop bite on the close but really quite a disappointment.

Tap @ the pub. Poured a lightly hazed amber color with an off-white head. The aroma was nice with notes of caramel, fruit, citrus and pine. The flavor had pine hops from front to back with a long hop finish. Caramel malt makes a base. Sticky and smooth with a medium to full body. Good warmth with an otherwise hidden alcohol.
