I’m surprised to be the first to rate this since everyone around me was drinking the same beer. Served in a small chalice. Crystal clear amber with a small white head, good lacing. A slam of American PNW hops in the nose. Sweet malts, citrus and pine resin, with a long bitter finish. Draft, but lovely palate reminiscent of cask rather than simple draft. Very nice.

Cask at Nodding Head. I had an hour to kill after coming in at 30th St Station and decided to stop by for a quick beer. Needless to say, this provided one of the better beer moments of my life. I walked in expecting to have an average offering and walked out with a new top 10 beer. Pours gold with a white head. Very hoppy aroma with pine resin and sweet citrus fruits. The flavor has near perfect balance. A huge hop bomb that isn’t overly bitter. Pine needles and citrusy goodness abound. Light lingering bitterness carries through to the finish. Very good, one of the better IPA’s (If not the best) I’ve tried. This beer is the perfect example of why I do this whole beer rating thing.

Tap at Nodding Head. Pours a translucent golden amber with a medium bubbly off white head. Aroma of resiny chinook hops, pine needles, grassy and mixed citrus with some caramel malt notes and light toast. Flavor the same. Very well done. Piney hop burps.
