Commercial Description:
Unpasteurized, Unfiltered, Bottle-Refermented Belgian Ale. The Brasserie Des Légendes is housed in a medieval castle in the town of Irchonwelz, in the French-speaking south of Belgium. 750ml Bottle: Complex aroma of lots of yeast, fruit, nectar, dust, slight spices, light pear, slight clove, and slight pepper. Poured amber in color with a large, rocky, pillowy, off-white head that lasted throughout. Hazy. Sparkling. Full of tiny particles throughout. Excellent lacing. Flavor is light to medium sweet. Tastes of yeast, spices, dark ripe fruits, caramel, vanilla, fruit, pepper, cloves, and more yeast. Medium body. Thick, syrupy, tingly texture. Lively carbonation. Sweet, caramel, spice, and yeast finish lingers.

Hazy to cloudy orange umber color. Big bubbled fluffy taupe head. Toffee and spices of nutmeg, cloves, ginger and allspice. Heavy spice flavors from the start. Toffee and fruit cake flavors unite. Rum sweetness. Somewhat burning in feel. Actually the feel itself is smooth and light, but the burn kicks in an roughs things up. Some nice flavors, but a bit rough in spots.

330ml bottle from 2007 served in a Duvel tulip. Dark garnet pour topped by a fluffy inch of off-white head. Smells of dark fruits, brown sugar, red wine. Tastes of molasses, dark fruit, pepper. Nice carbonation, it left a slight sting on the tip of my tongue and combined with the alcohol to warm the throat. In my opinion it is much better than the ratings show.
