really asmooth and thin on the viscosity with an amzingly robust flavor of roasty smokiness. Long lasting flavor, aftertaste of nuts and malt. Sweet with a very fluffy, rocky head. Bottle from Knightly Spirits, Orlando.

Bottle. Moderate to heavy malt aromas of dark bread, toasted and mild coffee, light hops of resin and dough for the yeast, with a little vanilla in the background. Head is small, frothy, off-white with some slippery lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is hazy dark brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium, watery with a lively carbonation. Great on aromas, a little flat on flavor. I’d drink this again.

Reviewed 9/20/2009 (bottle): Pours a very dark brown color body, smallish tan-whitish head, diminishing. Okay lacing. Strong sweet aroma, some spiciness and bitterness. Some smokiness. Some funkiness or something there in the nose. Watery body, some funkiness and smokiness. Slight chocolately. Old chalky chocolate taste. Some alcohol in the aftertaste. Some sourness too. A little odd.

(bottle - 500 ml) Dark ruby pour with a thin tan head. Aroma is roasty and nutty with some light caramel and toffee notes. Flavor is roasty at the beginning with a light and smooth caramel flavor in the middle. Finishes rather roasty with a nice nutty flavor. Smooth and easy to drink.
