| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 25, 2009 Bottle. Pour is a deep mahogany with some yeast cloudiness. Dense creamy head that disappeared pretty quickly leaving a little lacing. Aromas are quite sweet and nutty with hints of caramel, almonds, toffee and some roasted barley. Also a little alcohol. Flavours are initially also quite sweet with caramel and roasted malt. Plenty of hops on the finish. Mouth feel is pretty well spot on. Well balanced beer. Snegurochka (69), Tromsø, Norway
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 7, 2009 Hazy dark amber. Toffee, caramelized almonds and malt, a hint of soap and yeast integrated in the flavour. Long finish. I found it a bit bland. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 30, 2009 500 ml bottle. Dark brown body with a small, dense, beige head. Aroma of caramel, malt, brown sugar, spices and notes of fruit and nuts. Flavor of sweet malt, roasted caramel, dry fruit and spices with a fine bitter finish. A smooth and easy drinkable beer with a medium body and a richer flavor than first impression might indicate. A sweet and almost woody/roasted malt flavor gives some Belgium association, but this might be something between a brown ale and a Belgium Brune. gam (1116), brisbane, Australia
