When the head is present it is a light brown. Big Aromas of coffee, vinegar, olives and a hint of vanilla. Flavors similar to the aromas and a hint of alcohol. Medium bodied with low carbonation. Nice Beer. Would like to give it some time. Not as good as the first edition. BeerBiker (1392), Kathmandu, Nepal

So don’t light a match when consuming this beer...and definitely stay away from fire the night after consuming. Your whole house could go up. This one is HOT, HOT, HOT!!! Viscous crude oil pour with thin toffee colored head. Aroma is dark fruit, molasses, and eye-watering alcohol. Caramel, brown sugar, bitter chocolate and gasoline bite. Syrupy mouthfeel. This one needs ten years or more. Dickinsonbeer (3497), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 6, 2009 Alcohol in this one is still too fresh and covers up the nice coffee, and vanilla, chocoalte character- more fuesl and more green than the first one was when it was fresh. More nutty, herbal and green fusel alcohols in the flavor, dark burnt black chocolate- bitter and still fresh hops, tar and anise with tons more alcohol and some burn. The beer is completely black and leaves a film of dark brown all around the side of the glass when swirled. Aroma of chocolate, thick and gooey caramel, banana and vanilla with a light alcohol presence (all things considered) that comes across as rum. Taste is sweet with chocolate, cocoa and a bit of well contained heat. A touch of smoke and dark fruits as well. The alcohol is really well hidden for such a big and new beer. Syrupy mouthfeel and light bubbles. This beer reminds you of its potency after sipping with a sense of alcohol traveling up your throat and into your nasal cavities giving you a bit of a nasal burn after drinking (not smelling). Should be good for many years to come. ilovedarkbeer (1367), Dallas, Texas, USA

2/5/09: Pours a dark motor oil like black brown color with small reddish brown head. Nose is booze and raisins, roasted malt and coffee. Taste id dark chocolate, brandy, raisins, bitter baking chocolate, and rumcake. This monster needs time to find its way. Surprisingly very smooth and scarily drinkable at what says on the bottle is 17.5?
