| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Sep 28, 2009 Gorgeous aroma, roasted coffee, ripened fruit, vanilla, oak, smoke, molasses. The more you poke around, the more you find. Dark black pour, deep tan head, which dissipated very quickly. Amazing flavor of chocolate, alcohol right up front, roasted coffee, licorice. The finish has a slight bitterness like french roast coffee, but quickly gives way to an alcohol burn, like doing a shot of Irish Mist. Thick, creamy mouthfeel, of course to be expected. Amazing. You know, I paid almost $20 for a half-liter of this stuff, but for once I’ll say - it was worth it. Excellent. ucusty (1887), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

Fluffy chestnut colored head and nice lace. Heavy roast and a really sweet aroma. Choclate, roast, coffee, and burnt malts. This like V1 is still a little too cloying for me. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Sep 26, 2009 One of my second highest ratings to date. This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a large sized head of foamy fine to medium sized dark brown colored bubbles that were and left behind a opaque dark black colored body and a good lacing. The aroma was brown malt dark malt and mild vinous. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish with a biting dark malt aftertaste. The strong flavor contained notes of vinous dark malt and coffee. A deliciously wonderful best in class brew. glennmastrange (857), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 26, 2009 Bottle. Heavy malt smells of toasted, dark chocolate, strong coffee and molasses, moderate herbs and resin for the hops, earth for the yeast, with tar, alcohol and dark dried fruit in the background. Head is small, thin, light brown with no lacing but good legs, and is fully diminishing. Color is the deepest of the darkest brown. Flavor starts heavily sweet and lightly acidic, then the extra long finish is lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Palate is full, syrupy with soft carbonation and finishes heavily alcoholic and sticky. With out a doubt, the most powerful Imperial Stout I’ve had. Awesome. Stew41 (1052), Caulfield, Australia
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 25, 2009 Chris sums it up well. Very smart and serious in every way, and also very young. Chocolate and golden syrup on the nose; sweet and powerful. Palate is tighter with bitter chocolate. Quiet firm. Alcohol very well handled given the 16%. Years left here.
