Pours a hazy, dark brown with a small, beige head that dissipates in no time. Aroma of dried fruit and vintage port. Quite full-bodied, a little low in carbonation with sweetish, roasted malt, dried and overripe fruit, vanilla and port accents and a whiff of coffee. Dry, lightly hoppy finish. Excellent - this really has aged gracefully. 240907 omhper (12171), Stockholm, Sweden

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 3, 2006 Bottled. Pitch black colour, big brown head. Aroma is caramel, spices with slightly roasted malts and alcoholic notes. Flavour is roasted malts with some caramel and licorace. Spices become present after the roastiness and caramel vanishes. Pleasant and smooth, but it does feel "quite" standard compared to a few of the other Xmas theme beers from Nøgne Ø. Hides the alcohol very well. joergen (8482), Frederiksberg, Denmark
