| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 27, 2007 A large, frothy, tan head rests upon a cola-black body. Dense aroma is chock-full of sweet stuffs; chocolate, light roast coffee, raisins, dates brown sugar and red grapes. Some leather, pine and cedar fill in the remaining aromatic spaces. The flavour is mostly a direct translation of the aroma with a little more acidic sharpness than was indicated. But, overall, very much a big, lightly roasty, hoppy porter to my taste buds. Very rich, but with plenty of balance between hop and roast bitterness. Smooth texture, medium-full body and soft carbonation. LtJudge (432), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA

Some sweetness of chocolate and caramel, a bit of fruit and a bit of spice. Quite a bit going on here, great mouth-feel with chocolate, lots of malts - roasted, chocolate - some caramel and toffee. Interesting and complex. Tmoney99 (4793), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
