Some sweetness of chocolate and caramel, a bit of fruit and a bit of spice. Quite a bit going on here, great mouth-feel with chocolate, lots of malts - roasted, chocolate - some caramel and toffee. Interesting and complex. Tmoney99 (4794), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 11, 2007 Bottle from River’s Bend. Poured dark brown color with an average fizzy brown head that lasted and produced good lacing. Heavy complex toasted nutty malt and alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a sticky texture. Heavy balanced nutty bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of long duration. This is a standout beer. pineypower (1107), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA

Aroma of caramel and chocolate, slight spice. Taste is complex, chocolate comes through along with roasted malt, toffee, roasted nuts, chocolate and slight spice and hop bitterness on the finish. Solid beer. Sammy (4064), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 14, 2007 IThis black ale is a cross between a porter (albeit some coca-cola taste from the carmel etc.), a stout from some toasted barley, a dark ale, shwartzbeir, and an underlying citrus without being overhopped. Well done! chose this as #2100 review, as this brewery is up and coming and I’m really enjoying what they produce. Odeed (1680), Bakersfield, California, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 3, 2007 Bottle poured a brown with full head. Nose was chocolate, much more then I expected. Taste had some lactose, more like a stout/porter to me. Loved this baby, no presence of %. Lactose in here, as well. drfabulous (1275), Columbia, Missouri, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 22, 2007 Rich. Deep caramel tones. Doesn’t taste like most American Strongs. Instead, it has a bit of that Great Divide Hibernation strong ale taste. Very nice.
