Mar 1, 2007 Bottle: Black pour with a tan head. Aroma, caramel, chocolate, and some roasted notes, a bit nutty. Flavor, caramel, coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, some more nuts, and a bit of spicing. Interesting brew, not sure what to make of it.

Oct 28, 2007 Hazy dark brown, with a nice thick foamy brown head, leaving lacings. Heavy aroma of roasted/smoked malts and chocolate, with underlying porty notes. Lots of dusty hobs in the flavor along with roasted bitterness. On the sweet side we have the underlying overripe darkfruits, but its mainly a complex bitter roasted/hobby brew i think.

Mar 22, 2007 Bottle. Dark ruby brown beer with a nice tan head. Chocolate and slight roast aroma and flavor. Slight spice and hops backing in the flavor. Nice balance. Lingering citrus/pine hops with some rich malt. Medium bodied.

May 5, 2007 Bottle sampled on 3/12/07: Pours a nearly opaque with dark mahogany edges and a thin-lacing froth of dark tan head. Aroma of sweet earthy dark caramel malts with a touch of light spice. Body starts sweet and earthy with some sticky dark caramel and a drier lingering milk chocolate finish.

Feb 14, 2008 500ml Bottle: Lightly sweet aroma. Smells of malts, chocolate, raisins, and hints of fruit and alcohol. Poured dark brown in color with a large, dense, foamy, brown head that lasted throughout. Opaque. Very good lacing. Flavor of chocolate, dark malts, candi sugar, roasting, piney hops, and a hint of vanilla. Medium body. Creamy, chalky texture. Soft carbonation. Sweet, chocolate finish is a bit chalky. 8.5%ABV is well hidden.

Jan 6, 2006 Smooth and tasty Norwegian christmas beer full of malty dark chocolate. Some nice spices too and a fine bitter finish but I fear that I missed something due to a little cold.

May 25, 2007 Alcohol and caramel strong on the aroma. Nice burnt sugar- caramel malty flavour. Slightly thin mid-palate, but finishes with a really rounded mouthfeel.

Feb 17, 2007 Bottle... Very dark, cola-colored ale with a mid-sized, frothy, khaki head. Decent retention. Chocolate and cola aromas. Rich, chocolaty malt flavor with adequate bitterness and deeply roasted notes. Balanced almost perfectly... neither sweet nor overly hopped. Full-bodied and silky with reticent carbonation. Dark, chocolaty finish. Huge KUDOS to marsiblursi for boxing this one up and floating it across the Atlantic!
