Commercial Description:
In the US this is called "Winter Ale".

A dark ale brewed specially for the Christmas season, with a rich, complex taste of caramel. This is a strong, dark and rather sweet Christmas Beer – just the way we think a Christmas beer should be.

Recommended serving temperature 12°C/53°F. Great with cheese or nuts. Ingredients: Lager, Munich, caramel, black, and chocolate malt; Chinook, Columbus, and Centennial hops; English ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

19°P, 30 IBU, 8.5 % ABV.

500 ml bottle. This bottle pretty much redefined the word ’gusher’ for me. Between the time I popped the cap and got a glass, there was a big brown puddle surrounding it on on the counter. I put the bottle in the sink, and by the time I cleaned the counter roughly a third of the contents had foamed out. The part I got to try was great!

Tasty and surprisingly drinkable strong ale. Nogne has again made a very very good "american" styled beer. This was enjoyed on tap at the Dirty Truth in Northampton -- quite a treat to have a relatively hard-to-find beer on tap. Taste was especially strong with nice malt/hop balance.

Colore nero, molto denso e pastoso.

It poured a pitch black liquid with a small dirty white foam. Weak smell of chocolate, coffee and something burned. Similar taste but allot stronger. Medium bitterness, medium body. Nice Christmas beer.

Pours dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of chocolate, hops, spices. This is a holiday ale. Thick body with chocolate and caramel dominating. Some spices mix with the overall sweetness. Solid brew.

Golden orange in color which is decieving because the first flavors I get are chocolate with some roasted notes. This does really redden the cheeks even after a small glass.

Xtreme Xmas at RnH. A roasted malt with some bubble gum flavors. Not incredibly aggressive but respectible.

A Mes rate. Bottle at The Cads.
Dark brown with a very good beige head. Spicy chocolate aroma. More of the same in the flavour. Huge chocolate, delicate grassy hops in the background. Good spice, lovely grainy notes. Just really good all round.

500 ml bottle. Batch #448. Finland.
Dark reddish brown colour with small to average sand head. Dark fruits, roasted malt, bitter hops, dark chocolate, cola bottle gummies and some sweet caramel in aroma full of character. Dark chocolate, salty liquorice, sweet liquorice, roasted malt, bitter hops, indoor plants and hints of coffee in dry flavour. Every sip brings something new. Complex and interesting brew. Excellent! Heia Norge! Makes me wanna buy another bottle and wait until it’s 2014 (BB).
