Commercial Description:
There is a long story to this malty ale. It was first brewed in the spring 2006 in Nørrebro Bryghus in Copenhagen, Denmark, as a joint brew between Nøgne Ø and Nørrebro. Nørrebro calls their version “Double Knot Brown”. It is the perfect thing to drink with almost any cheese.

Recommended serving temperature 12°C/50°F. Ingredients: Maris Otter, wheat, brown, amber, Munich and caramel malt; Columbus, Chinook and E K Golding hops; English ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

18°P, 30 IBU, 7.5 ABV.

Bottle. Thanks to Beer 2000 for this treat. Pours dark ruby with a modest tan head. Tempting sweet malt aroma with caramel, mild coffee, hazelnut and fresh hops. Bittersweet taste; roasty malts, toffee/caramel, with a proper citric acidicy. Oily mouthfeel, strong body. Long , slight bitter coffeeish finish. Nøgne Ø is top end!

Bottle. Beautiful red/brown colour. Beige head. Aroma of barley, hops and chocolate. Tastes like an american barley wine with lots of chocolate. Feels like milk in the mouth. The beer is overall a little too mild and smooth. It´s not complex enough... although this is obviously a very good beer.

Botella. Deep dark brown colour with a big creamy light brown head leaving a very nice sticky lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and caramel, chocolate and some dark fruits. Very good filling mouthfeel. The flavour is soft with with caramel, roasted malt, some chocolate, dark fruits, little spice and coffee. Tasty brew indeed!
