Dec 23, 2008 bottle thanks to KAggie. shared at December Houston Tasting. Pours black with a nice brown head and some good lacing. Nose is funky with dried fruit and some roast malt. taste is same with some chocolate. Mouthfeel is medium-thin with carbonation and a bit harsh. Not the best porter I have had.

Dec 21, 2008 Sample at the Hopsnobbery Collective Porter tasting at Dogbricks on 12/4/08. Pours opaque dark brown with a small tan head. Malty aroma with some roastiness and chocolate. Smoky and roasty flavor, but not a whole lot else going on.

Dec 21, 2008 Bottle. Pours a nice black color with a medium tan head. Roasted malt in the aroma, as well as some chocolate in a hint of coffee. Nice balance in the aroma. Sweet taste. Some molasses and brown sugar. Light malt and some roasted coffee. One thing I will say is Nøgne is one of my favorite brewing companies. You know you get quality with them. And this is a solid porter.

Dec 20, 2008 Bottle from KAggie97 at the December Houston tasting. I am gay for KAggie! Pours a deep black with amber highlights and a nice beige head. Smells like Pepto Bismol and melon. Weird. Flavor is blunt chocolate with cough syrup and a faint coffee finish. Highly carbonated and fluffy mouthfeel. Interesting. Good for diahrrhea.

Dec 18, 2008 (Draught at Pikkulintu, Helsinki, on 2008-12-05) Black. Small tan coloured head. Roastedness, chocolate and liquorice in nose. Dry and full bodied palate with medium carbonation. Roastedness, liquorice, bitterness, some coffee, hint of sweetness and chocolate in taste. Roastedness and bitterness in dry aftertaste.

Dec 18, 2008 Pours with a dark brown to black body topped by a thin to medium thick head with a good amount of lacing. It is slightly sweet yet slightly bitter with a light chocolate note and a touch of roast. Full bodied, smooth and a touch warming.

Dec 15, 2008 Bottle thanks to kaggie at the RB Houston Impy Stout tasting. Pours black, with a small brown head. Opaque. Nose is chalky, coffee ish but not overwhelming. Very carbonated and fluffy, it sort of disappears in my mouth turning a liquid into a gas. Very strange. Taste is a bit coffeeish with very little alcohol presence. Got better as it warmed but overall did not do much for me.

Dec 10, 2008 Best beer of the night at the Publick House near Boston. Deep ruby-red medium-bodied porter with flavors of toffee and coffee, and a slightly smoky finish. It tasted like a true British porter, whereas most American porters taste like stouts.
