Dec 8, 2008 Sample at the Hopsnobbery Collective Porter tasting on 12/4/08: This brew is a solid brownish-black color with a medium thin and rocky light brown head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of smoked malt and dark chocolate plus a touch of coffee. Medium, round body with flavors of roasted malt, bittersweet chocolate and raisins. Light smoky character throughout. The finish is soft and roasty with a mocha aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Dec 4, 2008 Black pour with a big, dense, tan head. Lots of roasted malt aroma, dates, some semi-sweet chocolate, and a little blackberry. Mixed and dark fruit flavors hit the tongue first followed by a nice balance of roast, coffee, and semi-sweet chocolate. Medium body with gentle yet plentiful carbonation and a slightly aqueous finish.

Nov 15, 2008 bottle thanks to bu11zeye. black pour with a thick rocky khaki head. roasted malts, licorice, bitter sweet dark chocolate and dried fruits on the nose. not as thick as i was expecting but a very smooth flavor of roasted malts up front with a coffee finish.

Oct 31, 2008 Poured from 550ml bottle into dimpled mug. Opaque brown in color with 1 finger creamy head. Aromas of dark malt, chocolate and coffee. Tastes of roasted malt,semi-sweet chocolate, and coffee. Excellent balance on the malt and hops. This a traditional porter at it’s finest. Unfortunately, at $8.99 per bottle it will have to be an occasional treat.

Aroma: Dark mocca, roasted malt, coffee beans with a hint of dark berry´s
Taste: strong coffee taste, dark chocolate, malt, dried black berry.
Really well balanced, my favorite Porter so far..

Oct 27, 2008 Holy cow, this is tasty. Bottle; deep black pour with smallish and diminishing off-white head. Bitter chocolate, sweet coffee, dried cherries and other dried fruits. A touch of creaminess, but none of that sour porter thing. Minor notes of peat and smoke. Tons of roasty malt and a noticeable hop presence. This is a huge beer, but quite drinkable. Fantastic.
