Jul 23, 2008 almost black, little caafe au lati head. Strong notes of burned malt, liquorice, dark chocolate, and coffee. Sweet and bitter in great balancce. bitter finish. creamy soft mouthfeel.

Jul 21, 2008 Delicious. Tried this one after a disappointing left hand milk stout. Full, rich, slightly acidic. Chocolate, smoke, and a bit of bitter fruit is present throughout. Slightly harsh, and a surprising amount of hop for a porter. Overall, a wonderful brew. If it ever costs less than $11 a bottle, I’ll buy more.

Jul 17, 2008 Smells and taste like it has oatmeal in it, which is OK. Dry palate. Didn’t get much fruity flavors Without a doubt a good solid porter but I was expecting more. Got another bottle so maybe that one will floor me.

Jul 16, 2008 Pretty good. Roasted malt flavor with more chocolate than usual, not very sweet which was good. Dryer taste than most porters I have had. Very drinkable. Did not taste any alcohol. Nice bitter finish. Surprisingly light bodied for the dark color and alcohol content.

Jul 15, 2008 Bottle. Black pour with ruby hightlights. Slowly diminishing tan head. Aroma displays malts — roasted grain, chocolate, nuts and a hint of hops, particuarly pine. Hints of chocolate and coffee. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. However, it finishes up moderately bitter and moderately acidic and leaves hints of smoked peat and roasted malts. Wonderful creamy texture and medium body. Lively carbonation. Smooth, clean, nicely bittered porter with pleasant, somewhat complex aroma and lots of flavor.

Jul 12, 2008 Dark brown pour, tan head. Roasty and earthy in scent and flavor, just a hint of mocha. Great in the mouth and smooth going down. Lingers nicely a bit, but clean. Side note, Scandanavian porters are the best, close second English, then US.

Jul 3, 2008 Sample courtesy of piscator- very rich pouring brew. Nose- lots of roast and dark chocolate. Taste- dry, little smoky, good roast and medium bodied. Carbonation is on low side which improves drinkability.
