Palidor19 (1750), Brandon, Florida, USA Jan 9, 2008 its quite thin, Their is a certain amount of coffee and cocoa but the rest flavor seems kinda of weak and watery. Still tasty enough, nick76 (2634), Tampa, Florida, USA Jan 9, 2008 The aroma has chocolate, toasted malt, and milk. The appearance is dark brown with a tan head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall it’s pretty good. TyRip (40), Canton, Ohio, USA Jan 5, 2008 A high overall rating due to a great tasting AND very drinkable beer. The palate is its downfall, but also makes it a fantastic beer to enjoy the great taste of a fine porter without having to nurse it and think about every little sip. You can almost gulp this beer and still appreciate it. Nose of chocolate covered raisins and a hint of yeastiness. Flavor is big malts, and again, chocolate covered raisins. Let me tell you, that flavor is fantastic in a porter. Anyways, the downfall is that it is a little light on the tongue, and there is just a tiny hint of wateriness before the hops dry out the finish and round it out. A great beer but it could be a little heavier, then it would be perfect. Illini08 (528), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Jan 5, 2008 Bottle shared by Duane. Thanks! Black pour with almost no head. Some coffee and chocolate aromas and flavors. Some slight hops detected, but the dark malt flavors are much stronger. A bit thin and simplistic, but easy drinking. swoopjones (1862), Buffalo, New York, USA Jan 4, 2008 Bottle with Nice Guy Doug. Very good porter. Poured dark black with chocolate, roastiness, mild coffee presence. Creamy medium body. nice dry crisp finish performula (147), Triangle Area, North Carolina, USA Jan 4, 2008 Pours black with tiny carbonation. Extremely thin compared to other Porters. The beer has an ashy taste that lingers alittle. Finish is non-existent. Watery. Bockyhorsey (2487), Mesa, Arizona, USA Jan 1, 2008 Bottle. Detected some aroma of milk, sweet coffee aromas also. Black beauty with dark tan head good lacing. Sweet creamy body texture with flavors of coffee and dry coco. Dryness lingers for aftertaste. Good brew. turbo (1254), Arizona, USA Jan 1, 2008 First beer of the New Year!
